Is it just me or is anyone else sick and damn tired of hearing about Brett Favre? Look, I’m a big NFL football fan. Since there are no more Los Angeles Rams, my allegiances are now split betwixt the Denver Broncos and the New Orleans Saints. I gave up on the Rams when I used to wait tables in Beverly Hills and the late Georgia Frontiere was a regular customer. She’s no longer with us. Neither are Hitler and Mussolini. It wasn’t that she moved the Rams, first to Anaheim, then to St Louis that bothered me about her. What bothered me about her is she was purely and simply an obnoxious, awful woman. When I learned she was moving with the team to St. Louie, I considered offering her help loading the van. Anyway, the Broncos and Saints were always high on my list as a kid. Loved the Orange Crush teams, loved Elway (played high school baseball against him) and was a huge Archie Manning fan as a child. So, yeah. I like football. But if I have to hear one more lead story about Brett Favre I’m gonna puke. WHO CARES? Okay, so he retired, then he changed his mind. So what? So, the Packers made a decision to start Aaron Rogers so Favre had to be traded. So what? Neither the Jets nor the Packers are going to the Super Bowl, so, again, WHO THE FK CARES????
What IS important, however, is the Dodgers have picked up 2 games on Arizona in the last 3 days and are only a half game out of first at the time of this writing. Also at the time of this writing, they’re in the bottom of the 1st at AT&T Park. (Hate that name) like I said, it needs to be a sweep. They have a tough schedule at home next week against Philly, Milwaukee and the Rocks. They need wins to prove the ESPN Baseball Tonight peops wrong, who all believe the division will go to the Snakes because of the Webb/Haren/ Johnson connection.
Manny is human, as it turns out, but he sure is great. More later.
